Our dynamic Five Day Fours program comes together Monday through Friday 9:00am to Noon*. Our teachers provide unique learning experiences in science/math, dramatic play and art. Between three classrooms your child will have access to many activities: each head teacher focuses the day in their room toward a specific cluster of skills, and the students gain independence as they maneuver and choose a schedule for themselves each morning.
The playground is an extension of the classroom and co-operative social skills are encouraged and on display everyday. The fours begin each morning outside, and the whole class has a big 'Huddle Up' to discuss what will be happening in the classrooms that day. Each child has a 'home room' where a healthy snack and circle time are enjoyed on a small-group scale, allowing for maximum participation. Teacher use circle time for letter of the week introductions, story time, calender and weather charting and each child has a special job that is their responsibility each day.

Our day encompasses many styles of learning, but the overall theme is learning through play. Children engaging and interacting with the environment around them is a very strong way to connect one thread of learning to another. This atmosphere promotes the very important problem-solving skills our children will need as they enter Kindergarten next fall. A few field trips throughout the year also extend their experiences beyond our walls, and visiting Miss Joy at the Weston Public Library next door is a regularly scheduled part of our program. Other scheduled enrichment programs include Music with Marcia Lewis and visits from programs such as Animal Embassy. These Fours are busy learners!
*Also, if you would like to extend your child's day, they may bring lunch to school and join their friends in Lunch Bunch until 2:30pm one day a week, or everyday!
